If you are comparing home watch services in the Coachella Valley, price is usually the first question. The honest answer is that it depends on how often someone visits, what they check on each visit, and which extras you add. This guide explains what drives the cost of home watch, what to compare between providers, and where Desert Estate Home Watch pricing fits.

The short answer: plans start at $249 a month

Desert Estate Home Watch offers two monthly memberships. Both include one scheduled visit every week, a photo report after every visit, and prompt communication when something needs attention. Weekly Home Watch is $249 a month. Estate Home Watch is $329 a month and adds expanded interior observations and more detailed documentation. Concierge services for active members are scheduled separately and may carry additional fees. You can see the full side-by-side on our pricing page.

What drives the price of home watch

Prices vary between providers because the service itself varies. These are the factors that move the number:

  • Visit frequency. A visit every week costs more than one every two weeks or once a month, because there are more visits. Weekly visits also shorten the time a problem can go unnoticed.

  • Scope of each visit. An exterior-only walk-around takes less time than a visit that includes interior observations, thermostat and appliance checks, and detailed notes.

  • Home size and features. Pools, spas, multiple structures, large lots, and many rooms add time.

  • Reporting. Some providers send a short text. Others send a full photo report after every visit.

  • Extra services. Key holding, vendor access, arrival preparation, grocery stocking, mail handling, and storm checks are often priced separately.

  • Contract terms. Billing frequency, service agreements, and cancellation notice all affect what you actually pay.

Home watch is priced one of two ways: per visit, or as a monthly membership. Desert Estate uses monthly memberships with one visit every week. We do not offer biweekly or monthly visit plans.

Weekly Home Watch: $249 per month

Weekly Home Watch is built for consistent weekly oversight of a typical home. Each month includes:

  • One scheduled visit every week, all year

  • Standard exterior and approved accessible observations

  • Visible condition of windows, doors, and entry points

  • HVAC and thermostat concerns where accessible

  • Visible plumbing, leak, and irrigation concerns

  • Pool, spa, landscaping, storm, and pest observations

  • A digital report with photos after every visit

  • Prompt communication when a concern is observed

Estate Home Watch: $329 per month

Estate Home Watch includes everything in Weekly Home Watch and is designed for properties that need more detailed oversight. It adds:

  • Expanded interior observations when you approve access

  • More detailed property observations and documentation

  • Selected light, appliance, or system verification when requested

  • A home-specific checklist for approved estate features

  • Priority homeowner communication

What is billed separately

Several things are not part of the monthly price, and a clear quote should say so up front:

  • Concierge services, such as arrival preparation, grocery and pantry stocking, mail and package assistance, key holding, additional property visits, vendor and contractor access, storm and weather checks, and vehicle and golf cart checks. These are available to active members, are scheduled separately, and may carry additional fees that are confirmed before the work is done.

  • Repairs and contractor work. Home watch observes and reports; it does not perform repairs. Any contractor you hire bills you directly.

  • Your existing vendors. Utilities, pool service, landscaping, and pest control remain separate costs.

How to compare home watch quotes

When you collect quotes, ask every provider the same questions so the numbers are comparable:

  1. Is the price per visit or per month, and how many visits does it include?

  2. What is checked on each visit, and is the interior included?

  3. Do I receive photos and a written report every time?

  4. What is billed separately, and when is the fee confirmed?

  5. Is there a written service agreement, and what notice is required to cancel?

  6. How is access to my home handled and documented?

  7. What coverage or protections does the provider carry, and can I see them in writing?

A low monthly number with half of those answers missing is not necessarily a better deal. Our guide to who should check on your home while you are away lists more questions worth asking.

Is home watch worth the cost?

Home watch does not prevent problems, and it is not insurance. What it does is shorten the time between a problem becoming visible and someone seeing it. A slow leak, a cooling failure, or storm damage that goes unnoticed for weeks can lead to repairs that cost far more than months of regular visits. Weekly visits are most valuable when the home sits empty through summer, when it depends on a pool or irrigation, or when you live far enough away that a drive-by check is not realistic.

How billing and cancellation work with us

Ongoing home watch plans are billed monthly on a recurring basis, under a written service agreement. Cancelling an ongoing plan requires at least 30 days' written notice, as described in our terms and conditions. We would rather you know that before you sign than discover it later.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay per visit?

Our plans are monthly memberships with one visit every week. We do not offer biweekly, monthly, or one-off visit plans.

Does the monthly price include repairs?

No. Home watch is visual observation and reporting. If we notice a concern, we contact you promptly with photos, and you decide which licensed professional to call.

What is the difference between the two plans?

Estate Home Watch includes everything in Weekly Home Watch and adds expanded interior observations (when you approve access), more detailed documentation, selected light, appliance, or system verification on request, a home-specific checklist, and priority communication.

How do I get started?
